Privacy Policy

Learning Line is designed for parent-controlled learning. We try to collect and keep only the information needed to provide useful assessments, planning, reports, and support.

Last updated: September 18, 2026

Learning Line is operated by Rational Pursuits LLC. This policy explains what information we handle, why we handle it, what is temporary, and what remains under your control.

1. Information we collect

Parent account information

Clerk manages parent sign-in through email links or a connected Google, X, or Facebook account. Clerk and your chosen identity provider process the credentials and security information needed for authentication. Learning Line stores your Clerk account identifier, verified parent email address, and household settings. We do not store passwords or copy social profile names, photos, or access tokens into household records.

Child profile information

A parent may create a child profile with a first name and grade level. Children do not create independent accounts. A parent may also control limited support preferences, such as read-aloud consent.

Learning and assessment information

We store assessment sessions, responses, working-level results, skill states, check-in history, confirmed curriculum topics, schedules, and historical content versions so that reports continue to reflect the content used at the time.

Parent planning information

Parents may select topics, provide a short learning summary, or upload a worksheet or lesson photo. We retain the confirmed topic and skill matches needed for a plan, not the original freeform summary or uploaded image.

Household settings and account acknowledgment

We save the household learning preferences and narration voice you select. At signup, we record the policy version and server timestamp for your Terms agreement and privacy-notice acknowledgment. This record does not verify your identity or replace any separately required parental consent.

Technical information

We process information needed for authentication, session security, service operation, troubleshooting, and abuse prevention. Learning Line uses a small active-child preference cookie to keep the selected child in the parent dashboard.

To compare two versions of the anonymous homepage demo, we use a first-party cookie containing only the value “lesson” or “snapshot” for up to 30 days. We store aggregate daily counts for demo views, starts, completions, signup clicks, and account creations. These counts do not include names, email addresses, household or child identifiers, assessment answers, lesson descriptions, photos, IP addresses, user agents, or a unique browser identifier.

Offline practice downloads

When you choose Save for a trip, this browser stores the selected academic examples, practice answer key, and audio. Downloads contain no learner names, assessment records, responses, or scores. Anyone with access to this browser can open them, including while signed out. Remove download deletes the pack from this browser. Clearing browser storage also removes downloads.

2. What we do not want to collect

Learning Line does not need medical records, diagnoses, disability labels, mental-health information, religious or political beliefs, precise location, advertising profiles, or freeform child journaling to provide its core service. Please do not enter those details into a planning summary or upload them in a photo.

3. How we use information

  • To authenticate parents and protect household data.
  • To run adaptive placement and check-in sessions.
  • To calculate working levels, skill states, retention signals, and parent-facing reports.
  • To match parent-approved curriculum context to approved topics.
  • To provide requested read-aloud or audio features.
  • To maintain, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the service.
  • To comply with legal obligations and protect users and the service.

We do not use children's learning history for advertising, resale, unrelated profiling, or unrelated model training.

4. Venice and privacy-limited AI processing

When you choose to create a Ride-Along course, we send only your academic topic and selected subject to Venice to generate lesson text. Do not include personal information. We do not attach learner profiles, names, or assessment records. The original topic is not stored separately in our database; the generated course may repeat it. Generated courses are saved privately to your account for parent review; AI drafts may contain errors. You can export or delete them from your course library. Deletion immediately removes course content. A minimal creation-attempt marker may remain to enforce daily limits; old failed or deleted markers are cleared on your next course-creation request after 24 hours. Account deletion also deletes these courses and markers.

Generated lessons require your approval before playback. Approved lesson text may be sent for narration, without learner names. Custom course recordings are saved privately with the course and removed when you delete it. Shared academic recordings are reused across learners. Provider handling varies by model; these controls are not a blanket guarantee of zero retention by every provider.

When local topic and synonym matching is not enough, Learning Line may send a short parent summary to Venice. The request is shaped around the minimum context needed: the summary, subject, grade level, and approved topic catalog.

For a parent-provided photo, the image is processed as a temporary request to suggest approved curriculum topics. It is not added to the child profile, plan record, analytics, or historical report.

Learning Line's Venice adapter requests structured topic candidates for matching, disables web search and scraping, and sends store: false. The product is designed not to send child names, household identifiers, assessment history, prior answers, or parent preference data for this matching task.

AI output is a suggestion, not an assessment decision. Parents can remove or correct suggested topics before a plan is confirmed. We will review provider retention, logging, and training terms as those terms change.

5. Sharing and service providers

We may share information with service providers that help us host, authenticate, store, secure, operate, or support Learning Line. Providers receive information only as needed for their assigned service. Clerk provides parent authentication; this integration does not send child profiles, learning preferences, assessment answers, or reports to Clerk or social sign-in providers. See Clerk’s Privacy Policy for its handling of authentication information.

For example, an AI provider may receive the limited planning context described above, and an audio provider may receive passage content needed to create requested read-aloud audio. We do not send child names, household identifiers, assessment history, answers, or parent notes for audio generation.

We may disclose information when required by law, to protect rights and safety, or as part of a business transaction such as a merger or acquisition, subject to appropriate safeguards.

6. Storage and retention

Parent account, child profile, assessment, skill, plan, and report information may remain in the service while needed to provide the account and its historical learning records. Raw parent summaries and uploaded planning photos are designed to remain request-scoped and are not stored as durable plan fields.

Historical assessment content is preserved through content-version records so an old result is not silently reinterpreted after content changes.

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect information. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure.

7. Parent choices and requests

Parents may review and correct household information through the service. Parents may request access to, correction of, or deletion of household and child information by contacting Rational Pursuits LLC at support@learningline.xyz.

Account-deletion requests cover both the Clerk sign-in account and the household records held by Learning Line. Use the support address above to request deletion of both.

Deletion may affect the ability to provide historical reports, resume assessments, or preserve records. We may retain limited information where necessary for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, or legitimate recordkeeping.

8. Children's privacy

Learning Line is parent-controlled. Children are represented by profiles created by a parent and do not create separate accounts. We do not intentionally ask children for freeform personal information in the assessment experience.

See our Children's Privacy Notice for additional information about children's information and parent control.

9. Changes and contact

We may update this policy as Learning Line changes. We will post the updated policy here and change the date above. Questions or privacy requests can be directed to Rational Pursuits LLC at support@learningline.xyz.
